Rockford’s Love language…Cars

Saying more with his toys

Rockford has the habit of handing you a car and saying, “You’re _____”. Interestingly enough, he hands you a car that holds some relation to how he views you… if you pay close attention. Let me break it down for you based on what cars Rockford has handed people.

  

The Car/                 Who he gave it to/             About the car

  

Lightening McQueen  ( Himself/Rockford)      He is the best and fastest and coolest car and is Rockford’s favorite color, red.

 

 

 
 Flo OR Sally    (Nana)        Flo is a female car that is a pretty cool gal. Sally is Lightning’s love interest and gal friend
 
 
Guido  ( baby brother Rocco)       The tiniest car of them all and never really talksMack   ( 9 yr old cousin Elyjah)   He is a Mack Super Liner that carries Lighting around and he is also his buddy
 
 
Sheriff   (Abuelito/Grandpa)       He is the Sheriff of the town, serious, no-nonsense and  authoritative figure
 
 
Doc Hudson  (Daddy)       One of the most famous racecars to ever live at his prime. Now a well-respected Physician and Judge in the town   
 
Mater   ( Me/Mama)      He is Lightening McQueen’s best friend
A couple of months ago, Rockford sat in my lap and whispered to me, “Mama, you’re my best friend”. This warmed my heart and I never take for granted his code for this. Everytime he is leaving me to go somewhere he’ll always turn to me and say, “Bye Mater”. I know and he knows what he means so I reply, “See you later Lightning”.
 

Today he came up to Daddy and handed him the car “Tex Dinoco” that he calls “The Boss” and said, “Here you go this is you.” Daddy curiously asked, “Why is this me?” Rockford answered, “Because you are the Daddy Boss.”

So now we know that he thinks mama as his best friend and sees daddy as the one he aspires to be like, one he respects, and the one who is boss.

Next time he hands you a car ask him to tell you a little about that car…he might see more in you than what you see in that toy car. Maybe your child has a special relation with a toy please share it here.

    Awwww….how adorable!!!! Amazing how little kids minds work….very creative expression. Hmmmm…. wonder who he will say I am….lol….can’t wait to ask him =)

      It really is interesting how little minds work. I would love to hear about little “girls” minds to see how they differ from boys. Got any stories you want to share? Well next time you come over we’ll have to see which car he hands you. You look like a “Flo” to me 🙂
