Rockford's 1st birthday (May 2009)

Three years ago today at 8:24am the doctor placed a beautiful little baby boy on my chest and my life as I knew it, would never be the same again.Rockford Miles Ramirez, my son, was 7 pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long and perfect, for me. Throughout his little life he has been blessed to be surrounded with a loving community of friends and family. This is another letter to my son.

Being a mother comes with its share of responsibility. Being a mother of boys has come with its share of unique responsibilities that never crossed my mind until my older son started growing up. Mama needs a chill pill

On several occasions I feel boggled down with the heavy-never ending list of to do’s.  On these days, I know my kids get the short end of the stick and in the greater scheme of things, those little “to do” things really didn’t matter. I sometimes take for granted the gift of multitasking and run myself ragged and my kids end up as collateral damage. Let me make this a little bit more colorful.
