Our Trip to Lake Cuyamaca
What a beautiful nature adventure just 50 miles east of San Diego. Our boys had a blast watching the ducks, geese, coyote, and deer. Yes, there is a coyote the locals call “the shy coyote” and true to his name he saw us and ran off to hide.
My boys fed the ducks and geese, climbed trees, hiked some trails, threw rocks into the lake, and ran around up and down the pier. Who says fun family adventures have to be costly? We ate lunch at our loca In-and-Out before heading there and then had dinner at home.
When (not if, but when) we vist Lake Cuyamaca again, I’ll be sure to pack us a picnic, enjoy rowing a boat with the family, and again take in all the beauty that beckons you to come again.
We are on a mission to rediscover our city and parks nearby one family adventure at a time. Please share with us a trip you think we should take.

Ever have your kid bring his or her art work home only to get stumped trying to guess what it is? My husband and I took a guess at what this picture was and it was…
My Dad’s Work Journey

You want to know what?
When kids ask the darndest things
Has your kid ever asked you a question from left field where he/she leaves you stumped? Let me share a few of mine with you that I have had thanks to my three year old.
My Pint-Size Patriot
Rockford the Politico
I Vote for me is a Vote for Lightening McQueen
It has been truly rewarding…and entertaining to go through a Presidential Nomination process with my 3 1/2-year-old son, Rockford. He has shown his love for his country and Presidents’ since he was two. Now I see him striving to grasp how a person becomes President and what type of person makes for a good president. Get a kick out of his perspective like we, his parents have.
Our Family Video Diary
A minute a day
Our life in action
Have you ever thought of how great it would be to be able to actually look back and see a couple of minutes of your childhood? Maybe sitting with your family for dinner, watching your favorite TV show/cartoon, playing with your parent, being read a book by Mom or Dad? I wish I was so lucky, but at least I can do this for my kids. Here is my challenge to you…
The Greatest Love of all

In striving to come up with a meaningful and fun Valentine’s Day activity I came across a site that had this craft. I thought it was perfect.
