Recently while I getting the boys in the car…

Rockford: “I need that car, but I wanted that car!”

Me: “You’ll be fine without it.”

Rockford: “No I will not be fine.”

Me: “Then you can write a song about how this moment forever changed your life.”

While visiting with our friends and their families, Rockford had kept insisting I let him use my iPhone so he could watch Thomas & Friends saying he wanted to watch it to make “other” people happy with it (what a little manipulator). When he started up the second time I said to him, “Stop it Rockford, you’re starting to sound like a politician.”

I thought the kids were getting really fussy and desperately needed their nap so I thought a stroll around the corner would do. As I was buckling Rockford he asked…

Rockford: “Mama where are we going?”

Me: “To sleep.”

The other day we got home from being out and about. As we drove into the garage Rockford started with the questions.

Rockford: “Where are we?”

Me: “Home.”

Rockford: “What are we gonna do here?”

Me: “Live here.”

 ****

We started calling cavities bugs and when I help Rockford brush his teeth I usually pretend we are taking out all the bugs so he’ll keep brushing until all the “bugs” are out. Well the other day there was a tiny spider on his head and I removed it, showed it to him and said, “He was headed for your mouth.”

It never fails when I go to the bathroom one of my boys will try to break down the door to come inside with me. The other day it was Rockford, then Rocco and then Rockford again. He stood outside demanding I open the door, but I ignored him. When I came out he greeting me with this.

Rockford: “If you do that again, I’m gonna lock you out!”

Me: “That would be great actually.”
