Joy of life
Finding pleasure in a simple trip
What a day of beautiful weather, amazing views and God’s nature. Although we had our hurdles at the beginning of the trip with Rockford refusing to leave the car without his socks and shoes, the majority of the trip was filled with discovering and exploring for the boys, my husband and myself.
As we made our way around the tide pools, we could look across and see the crashing waves hit the rocks and make beautiful splashes. Rocco was mesmerized by the flock of birds that flew in the sky every which way. He kept looking up and pointing and them with full amusement. He didn’t hesitate to lean over the limestone to touch the little fish filled waters pools. When Rockford finally came to appreciate the beach, he too took park in playing in the waters with Rocco, scratching the sands to make patterns on it, and getting in the water by himself from the knees down.
Seeing my kids delight in nature was fulfilment for me. I love witnessing my children discovering, learning and exploring. I know this is the way God created us with that innate ability of seeking knowledge in order for us to seek Him and know His knowledge. Giving our children the opportunity to cultivate this is important and necessary. Today it might be discovering the different kinds of fish and rocks, but tomorrow it will be to seek Truth and be led to Jesus Christ and learn His knowledge.
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. –2 Corinthians 4:6
This trip was definitely a bigger trip than we anticipated, with regards to the amount of knowledge we would gain from it. It is amazing how much beauty and joy is out there just waiting to be ventured upon. Our heavenly Father appreciate’s beauty and made us to appreciate it like Him and therefore has given us so much to experience in this life, so go out and live it and share it with your kids. What a blessing to find simple pleasures in ordinary places…like at the tide pools.
Have a wonderful Wednesday! Blessings to all!!

We went to tide pools in San Diego when I was a child once or twice, and I really loved them! I’m glad you got to go as a family.
