Today we are heading out to a beach camping trip that has been long overdue…not so much for us as a family, but for my husband. For this reason I want to write my sons a letter to enlighten them on the significance and inspiration behind this trip by sharing with them a little about their Daddy’s childhood memories.

Well today marks our eight year wedding anniversary and as the cliché goes, it feels like it was just yesterday. I wanted to share a little about this to our two boys who keep asking why they are not in our wedding video (well Rockford really). Here is another letter to my boys.

Rockford:  “Are you ready Mama?”
Me: “No, I’m not done doing my make up.”
Rockford: “Let me see.”  (Examines my face as if witnessing unfishined work) “Oh, yeah you’re not.”

I wanted to take this time to write another letter to my boys to tell them how being a mommy for me has been such a  journey and full of joy AND how I never lost sight of who I am as a woman and as an individual. This is who their mama is and their daddy loves their mommy just the way she is with all her passions and hobbies.

RF: “Those aren’t birds Mama. Those are parrots.”
